EXPLORING THE ISLANDS

In meinem letzten Post habe ich euch ja schon von einem meiner Highlights unserer Thailandreise berichtet.
Diesmal möchte ich euch etwas über ein weitere Highlight erzählen. Die Inseln Koh Phangan und Koh Samui erzählen.
In my last post I already told you about one of my personal highlights of our Thailand journey. This time I want to tell you about another one. The Islands Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.
Auf Koh Phangan haben wir in einem wunderschönen kleinen Bungalow gewohnt. Es war gerade soweit abgelegen, dass man seine Ruhe hat, aber mit dem Motorrad trotzdem innerhalb von 5 MInuten an der Hauptstraße ist.
Motorroller fahren ist auf der Insel ein Muss und so haben auch wir uns eins, bzw. mehrere augeliehen.
Gebt lieber 200Baht (5Euro) pro Tag für ein ordentliches Bike aus, als 150 Baht für eins, das liegen bleibt oder die Berge nicht hochkommt-ja wir hatten da so unsere Probleme.
On Koh Phangan we stayed in a beautiful little Appartment not directly at the mainroad. So it was very calm, but itonly took us 5 minutes by motorbike to get to some nice Restaurants.
If you go to the Islands you have to rent a motorbike. It´s the most common mean of transport there, so we rentd one.
I recommend to rather borrow one of the „expensive“ ones (200 Baht=5euros) instead of one for 150. You want to be able to go up the mountains, trust me 😉
Koh Phangan eine absolute Trauminsel und wenn es ein Paradies auf Erden gibt, dann ist es der Strand in Haad Rin.
Es ist der Strand an dem auch einmal im Monat die Full Moon Party stattfindet, zu dieser Zeit waren wir allerdings nicht da.
Wir haben Haad Rin als ruhigen Traumstrand mit unglaublich weißem Sand und kristallklarem Wasser erlebt und so wurde er auch gleich für ein paar Shootings genutzt.
Die meiste Zeit haben wir an diesem Traumstrand verbracht, gelesen, Frisbee gespielt und einfach entspannt.
Koh Phangan is absolutely amazing and if there is a paradise it´s Haad Rin Beach.
Haad Rin Beach is where the famous full moon party takes place once a month, but that wasn´t the time we visited it.
It was very calm there when we visited, the sand is incredibly white the water cristal-clear, so we used it to take some fotos as you can see.
We spent most of our time at this Beach, read, played frisbee and relaxed.
Etwas actionreicher war unser Ausflug zu The Challenge. Eine Art Wasserpark. Hier gibt es einen Parcour den man-wenn man will auf Zeit- absolvieren kann.
Mann kann aber auch einfach an einzelnen Stationen üben oder sich mit dem risigen Luftkissen hoch in die Luft schleudern lassen- absolut empfehlenswert.
One day we wanted some action, so we went to `The Challenge`. It´s a waterpark with a parcour.
If you want to they stop your time and you can see if you´re one of the fastest who took it.
But you can also just play around at the different stations or let them throw you up with the big air cashion, which ios what we did. It´s great fun!
Nachdem wir 8 Tage auf Koh Phangan verbracht haben, sind wir mit der Fähre nach Koh Samui übergesetzt.
Koh Samui ist deutlich touristischer als Koh Phangan. Es gibt viele Restaurants und Strandverkäufer.
Wir haben in der Nähe von Fischerman´s Village im Norden der Insel gewohnt. Fischerman´s Village ist ein kleines, nettes Viertel, in dem es sehr viele-für Thailand Verhältnisse teure- Restaurants gibt. Außerdem gibt es ein paar Bars-sogar eine mit Live-Musik- und schöne Geschäfte.
After spending 8 days on Koh Phangan we took the ferry to Koh Samui.
Koh Samui is more touristic that Koh Phangan. There are many restaurants and people who sell food, cloths and accessoires at the beach.
We stayed next to Fischerman´s Village in the north of the island. Fischerman´s Village is a nice, small area with lots of expensive(compared tothailand standarts) restaurants.
There are some cool bars- some of them even have live-music) and shops.
Der Strand der uns hier am besten gefallen hat ist der in Chaweng. Der Sand war leider nicht so paradisisch weiß, aber es gibt alle 200 Meter Fruchtstände an denen man sich Ananas, Wassermelone, Mango, Mais und alles was das Herz begehrt zum snacken holen kann.
Außerdem haben wir hier Stand Up Paddeling gemacht, was uns riesigen Spaß gemacht hat.
The beach we liked most on Koh Samui was chaweng Beach. The sand wasn´t as white as the sand at Haad Rin Beach, but what I really loved was that there were lots of stands where you could buy fruits. So we had lots of pineapple, watermelon, mago and corn. Absolutely amazing.
Furthermore we tried Stand-up Paddeling at Chaweng Beach, which was great fun.
Der Strand in Lamai ist dem in Chaweng sehr ähnlich. Hier waren wir allerdings nur einmal, da Chaweng von unserer Unterkunft aus schneller zu erreichen war.
One day we went to Lamaii Beach, which is located in the south-eat of the island. It´s really similar to Chaweng Beach.
Since it was further from where we lived we onl went here once.
So das war´s, das war der letzte Post zu unserer Thailand Reise. Wir haben so viele neue Erfahrungen gesammelt und verschiedene Seiten von Thailand gesehen und es war einfach wundervoll. Es gibt wenig, was ich im Nachhinein anders gemacht hätte-vielleicht hätte ich einen Tag weniger im stinkigen Bangkok und einen tag mehr auf Koh Phangan verbracht- und ich kann jedem nur empfehlen den nächsten Urlaub nach Thailand zu buchen!:D
Besonders im Mai, der Low-Season- ist es wunderschön und man wird nicht von zu vielen anderen Touristen gestört.
Well..That was my last post about our Thailand journey. We had some great new experiences and saw different parts and different sides of Thailand.
There i shardly anything I would have done another way, if I had the chance to- maybe I would have spent one more day on Koh Phangan and one day less in Bangkok- and I can only recommend to go to Thailand for your next vacation.
Especially in may- which is actually low- season- it´s wonderfull and there aren´t many other tourists.
